La section Aquitaine de la Société Chimique de France inclut depuis janvier 2011 un club de jeunes chimistes qui a organisé un concours intitulé « Images de chimistes ». Cette initiative ouverte aux jeunes chimistes a engendré une forte participation et plus de cinquante images obtenues avec différents médias ont été reçues. Une exposition itinérante des photographies lauréates est présentée durant l'année 2011 dans différents laboratoires des lieux universitaires aquitains, ainsi que dans des collèges et lycées.
